They can pay people because large companies around the world pay them to conduct market research to improve services and make products better. The main kind of sites thrown up by a typical 'paid surveys' search on the web are lists or directories of survey websites that pay you. These sites, such as http://www.paidsurveyselector.com , display freely available information on what kind of rewards, minimum ages, prizes and countries of availability are available at each of the paying survey sites. There are a few sites that appear in search listings that ask for money in return for information, or may offer a huge and unrealistic amount of money for your name and email address. As a rule it's probably best to avoid these because information on survey websites is easy to find for free.
